Phumudzo Baloyi
A registered professional engineer with over 20 years of experience, Phumudzo Baloyi is the Managing Director of SMART Civils since its inception in 2012. For over ten years, Phumudzo was Technical Director and Regional Manager at Goba (Pty Ltd) where he led a team of professional engineers, technologists and technicians.
He has experience in the design of Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steel Structures, including bridges and water retaining structures. Phumudzo holds a Masters in Structural Engineering. He completed his MBA at Stellenbosch University in 2013.
Dean Stafford
Dean Stafford is a registered professional construction project manager with over 14 years of experience in managing building and engineering projects. His vast experience enables him to manage multi-disciplinary construction and engineering projects and to ensure successful completion of projects with budget, quality and on time.
He holds a B-Tech degree in Quantity Surveying and completed his MBA at Management College of Southern Africa (MANCOSA) in 2017.
Mashudu Baloyi
Mashudu Baloyi is a commercial director who specialises in cost Engineering with over 14 years’ experience. He is experienced in resource-based cost estimation for large multi-disciplinary project.
He holds National Diploma in Building and he is currently completing his BSc in Quantity Surveying at the University of FreeState.
Andrew Ibbotson
A registered professional engineer with over 35 years of experience, Andrew started his career as an Engineer with Water Affairs in 1981. He later joined LTA Construction, and then spent four years with a Consultant as an RE.
Andrew started his own construction company which was later bought out by Botes & Kennedy and he was a divisional manager for this 8CE company, running notable projects all over Africa. Andrew has a BSc (hons) in civil engineering and he is a fellow of the Association of Arbitrators.
